I believe! (And so does the world)
I've been a fan of the U.S. Women's National Team since 1999. 20 years y'all! The image of footballer Brandi Chastain ripping off her jersey, whipping it around her head like a helicopter, abs popping, celebrating the winning penalty kick in the World Cup final at the Rose Bowl -- is seared into my brain. I remember thinking, "Wow, I wish I could do that after victory on the golf course. Probably should have picked soccer."
Well, I stuck with golf (added Track & Field and Olympic Skeleton into the mix later in life) but have always wondered what it would be like to feel the energy of THAT team. I got a chance to chop it up with Brandi during Women's Sports Foundation events in 2006, which was pretty exciting. And today, I got my chance to lead a chant --a call to action of sorts-- for our victorious 2019 World Cup squad. The perfect marriage of voiceover and sporting worlds, I couldn't be more excited to share with you: I Believe.
